Amanda Edmondson-Corbett, LMT, NCBTMB

Amanda Edmondson-Corbett  graduated from Tampa’s SunCoast II School of Massage Therapy in 2006 with additional training IMG_7225in traditional Thai, Hot Stone, and Prenatal Massage.  She is certified in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and Structural Energetic Therapy, specializing in rehabilitation from chronic pain caused by imbalances in the body’s structure.

In 2009, Amanda completed Structural Energetic Therapy training, which focuses on addressing deeper issues held in the body. This therapy uses techniques to release old structural patterns that cause painful conditions and dysfunction. Using myofascial restructuring, emotional energy release, acupressure, kinesiology (muscle testing), postural analysis, scar/adhesion release, and deep tissue therapy techniques, she can address primary areas of discomfort to aid the body in releasing any restrictions that cause imbalance. This allows the body to support its improved alignment therefore increasing balance and function. This training has helped to rehabilitate many problems associated with the spine including migraines, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, bulging discs, herniated discs, stenosis, whiplash, hyperlordosis, hypolordosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, surgical scars and IMG_0664adhesions.

In 2011, Amanda was certified in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. The Japanese word “Ashi” translates to foot and “Atsu” means pressure. During this therapy, long deep glides are applied over the body with varied foot pressure using overhead bars for stabilization. This therapy utilizes body weight behind the pressure to reach deeper restrictions in tissue resulting in relief from symptoms of chronic soft tissue damage. This assists in structural change by lengthening and softening tension in muscles and fascia.

“I believe educating clients about their particular patterns can help prevent further collapse into a dysfunctional structure. By bringing these patterns into awareness and creating space for the body to heal itself, we can reverse these imbalances, giving way to more freedom in motion.” AEC
