What you eat matters.

Due to my incessant curiosity, and persistent skepticism I’m constantly reading information put forth by scientists, trying to figure out what the recipe is for optimum health. I’ve come to some conclusions that I’d like to share.
First of all, one of the keys to remaining or becoming healthier is to be OBSERVANT and CONTEMPLATIVE. Look around, do animals in nature look unhealthy? Are they taking meds to control their blood pressure, blood sugar, or cholesterol levels? No!!! and why not? because they are living, eating, and moving as nature designed-kind of like our primitive ancestors. Think about what our ancestors from 2.5 million years ago ate, and compare it to what you eat now. Think about how they were procuring sustenance also. Our primitive ancestors couldn’t go to the grocery store and purchase thousands of ready to eat calories. They had to spend numerous hours hunting and gathering to accumulate enough calories to sustain themselves. They were never privy to large amounts of refined carbohydrates, no cookies, cakes, candy bars, bread, or soda.

Are you starting to get a picture in your mind?

At present there are ~442million people with type 2 diabetes. I bet there weren’t any cavemen or hunter gatherers with type 2 diabetes. Nor is diabetes prevalent in wild animal populations, but it is prevalent in domesticated dogs. Hmm, wonder why.

I read that our bodies are only capable of dealing with ~1teaspoon, which equals 4 grams, of sugar circulating in our bloodstream. More than that and the body desperately has to figure out how to get it out of the bloodstream, because sugar glycates protein. An example of this is when you put a piece of bread in the toaster. It goes in soft but comes out crispy. The heat of the toaster caused the carbohydrates (sugar) and the proteins in the bread to cross link and become a different substance. In your body, protein in the presence of elevated blood sugar causes your proteins to become non-functional. That’s why diabetics have greatly increased risk of cataracts, neuropathy, loss of kidney function, limb amputation, and blindness. Their bodies are becoming TOAST!!!  By nature’s design we have several mechanisms to increase blood sugar levels, but only one hormone insulin to lower blood sugar. Contemplate that as you eat throughout the day, and make good choices. Remedy also has supplements that can help greatly!
